  This pub has been around since 1995 and used to be a really nice place to go for a pint in Stephenville. While Stephenville has many bars/pubs they are generally dingy and uncomfortable places to socialize and have a drink. Clancy's used to be one of the few exceptions to this rule. The staff wore uniforms and were always prompt and friendly. Ther service was almost always exceptional and you rarely had to wait to be served. The food, while not great, was standard for pub food and you could generally depend on the food you ordered. You could always count on not having to be subjected to country/western music (common bar music in Stephenville).
  
  However, several years ago management changed and this place has become just another dingy bar in Stephenville. The service is often slow, rude, and painful to deal with. I recall one time when my wife and I entered Cancy's and there was only one other customer who was already served. The waitress looked over at us, went back to doing some minor chore and ignored us for approximately 5-10 mins before she came over to serve us. The draught beer taps are regularly empty and management appears to have problems keeping the bar properly stocked. The kitchen keeps inconsistent hours and occasionally shuts down for no reason at all. As such, you cannot depend on this place if you plan on dining out. Clancy's is billed as an English pub but often plays country/western music and last time I was there no longer served Guiness beer.
  
  It's sad to see how much this once fine pub has deteriorated.
